The 'Dharma' of Imaginative Breakthroughs and the Law and Literature Movement: COWBOY CARTER & the Thought of T. M. Krishna

Joining me for this new installment in our ChatHUMAN podcast series is our guest co-host Aniruddha Rao: IT security guru, now law student, and Renaissance man. We talk about multi-Grammy-award-winning, multi-genre American singer-songwriter Beyoncé and award-winning Indian vocalist and music educator T.M. Krishna ("TMK")—two iconoclasts who have set new cultural precedents and challenged old definitions and demarcations.

  • As we discuss, the seismic cultural change heralded by these figures seems to be based on each of them risking condemnation and possible damage to their careers in pursuit of their vision of truth. Both Beyoncé and TMK break all the rules as they break old genre boundaries and paradigms.

  • Using the lenses of the Law and Literature and Law and Culture movements, Aniruddha and I examine the tribalism that so often divides human beings. And yet we also aim to discover what are some potential foundations or opportunities for collaborations, teamwork, and strategic alliances and partnerships.

  • Once again, on ChatHUMAN, we seek to work at the crossroads of critical and creative thinking—and to tackle complexity in a world that often insists on oversimplification.
